Bookpoint gets behind World Book Night01/03/2011
Saturday 5th March is World Book Night, a nation-wide initiative to celebrate adult books and reading and the biggest event of its kind ever held in the UK. 40,000 copies of 25 books – making a grand total of one million books - will be given away to people all over the UK by 20,000 passionate readers.
Bookpoint, one of Hachette's book distribution companies, based in Abingdon is fully involved in the event, arranging the delivery of 510,000 books to sites all over the UK and Northern Ireland.
Graham Money, General Manager at Bookpoint said: ‘Distributing this number of books is a major logistical exercise in addition to all our regular deliveries but we are absolutely delighted to be able to be part of this amazing event. It has been all hands on deck at our warehouse doing our bit to ensure that all the book givers get their books in time for the great night.’
